Annie's Angels BIG East Coast Adventure As I prepare to turn 50 this March, I have begun to look back at what I have done in my life. Like everyone, I've had my highs and I've had my lows but the best "thing" I've done has been the founding of Annie's Angels. I may be just ok at this charity thing but one thing I can do very well is ride a bicycle. I don't ride fast but I can ride far...VERY FAR! So, this May I will put my butt on the line to raise $100,000.00 for Annie's Angels families by cycling from Daytona Beach Florida to Stratham, NH. This 1700 mile trek will take about 3 weeks to complete (May 26 - June 16) and will give our families hope for their coming challenges. To view the general route click here! Thanks to our sponsors and JR for making this such a success! A Giving Heart Thank You Dear Friends and family, We would like to take this time to thank you for donating to A Giving Heart Fundraiser. Over the last few months, your generosity has helped buy medication, groceries and other necessities. Everyday brings new strengths. Walking without a walker, drining and even working a few hours a week. it is a long road, but being able to return to some normal activities has been such a blessing. Thank you for all your support, donations and prayers. Warm regards, Dan Golden and Family Beyond words – OK – so days have passed (and I miss you!) and by now I’ve usually come up with a couple of quick (or not so quick) thoughts to share with you. But somehow this year I don’t seem to be decompressing after the Ride. It’s all still one big, fabulous, warm, awesome experience that I still can’t put into words. Debby Harry (yes – I’m dating myself) used to talk/sing about family of choice and family of conscience. A fellow proud adoptee, she knew that one wasn’t necessarily better than the other but that they both luckily exist. There are no words to express how much you, my Ride family, means to me. Just like in any family, this past year has held both great and terrible things for our members. I know, especially after this year’s Ride, that I am not alone when I turn to my Ride family of choice for strength and courage, inspirations and laughs – a hell of a lot of laughs! THANK YOU! THANK YOU! THANK YOU!Ride On! Blake Thank you, Thank you, Thank you! Thanks to everyone who came out to Flatbread Co. to support our fundraising efforts! We had raffles, we had chair massages by Karen and Hillary from Rejuvenations Professional Massage. We had plenty of Flatbread and of course we had YOU! Thanks for another successful event. Thank you from the Trans NH ride Against Muscular Dystrophy The following is a note from the organizers of the Trans NH Bike Ride 2010. They are truely amazing people, running this event for more then 20 years! "You're amazing!! In such a down economy and 20 less riders that usual you still came through and raised $131,500. That is a phenomenal total given that last year's ride netted $144,000 and we had 18 more riders! Thanks to each and every one of you for all you did to make this year's ride such a success!! Over and above the ride itself, the folks in Colebrook couldn't have been happier or more appreciative for all the blankets you donated." Thanks again for a successful 2010 TNHBR! Regards, TNHBR Board of Directors Here's a GSQ Thank You! The following is a thank you and a short recap sent to us by the organizers of the Granite State Quest - a ride to cure cancer. Hello,Generally, it is a disappointment when one’s parade is rained upon. Well, yesterday, I think 100 folks were pleased when rain fell on their "parade." Thank you all for making the 8th annual Granite State Quest a wonderful success! From the early morning start for the 100 milers to the 10:30 send off of the 50 mile ride by our 5 year friend Camron and his bother Nolan, the level of excitment and commitment was fantastic. And yes, the rain created a few more challenges, but it did not dampen your spirts one bit. It was wonderful to see a stream of riders head out as a powerful statement of a common commitment to find a cure for cancer. You were noticed by many people throughout the communities you rode. At one of the more busy intersections, a road warrior volunteer was asked what event was taking place. After being told that it was a bike ride for cancer research, the driver of the car reached into her pocket and handled the volunteer fourteen dollars - yes, you were noticed. We hope you enjoyed the post ride barbeque and that with your families and friends were able to celebrate and recognize what you accomplished on a hot and rainy day in July. Cancer in isolation is unthinkable, with a family and friends it is bearable and with a community, you believe it is something you can beat - thank you for being a part of the community. Over the next few weeks we will keep you updated with the fundraising and will send out photos from the day. In the meantime, we hope any aches and pains from yesterday's ride will go away and that you enjoy a wonderful summer. Best regards and thanks,
